Odenton Day 2018!

October 6, 2018 |9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Odenton Day, October 6, 2018

As part of a joint effort by the Odenton Heritage Society, Odenton Volunteer Fire Company, the Greater Odenton Improvement Association and the West County Chamber of Commerce, we will celebrate Odenton Day on October 6th!

The Odenton Heritage Society will be represented at both the museum and the firehouse. There will be information available on the history of Odenton and items for sale.

The OHS will have an open house from 9AM – 2PM at the Odenton Heritage Society Historical Center, 1367 Odenton Road, Odenton, MD. We will have a special display for the World War I Centennial (1917-1918) and explain Odenton’s role in the war.  The OHS museum displays community history and the growth of Odenton’s railroads.

There will be free guided tours by shuttle bus that start at 11:00AM from the Odenton Volunteer Firehouse to the OHS Center and back. The tour will offer the opportunity to learn why Odenton is called “The Town a Railroad Built”, pass through Odenton’s historic area, view two sites on the National Register of Historic Places, and pay a visit to our historical museum.

At the Odenton Firehouse (located at 1425 Annapolis Road) there will be free hot dogs, chips, and drinks. Also, there will be fire related demonstrations, music, dancing and entertainment, activities for kids and displays by West County organizations and businesses.

Please join the celebration and visit us at both the OHS Historical Center and the OVFC Firehouse.  Admission is free!
