The Odenton Heritage Society Historical Center includes the Citizens State Bank Building, located beside the MARC train station on Odenton Road. The neoclassical, rusticated concrete block building was constructed in 1917 as Odenton's first bank. It was built to serve Army personnel assigned to the newly formed Camp Meade as well as the village of Odenton and the surrounding agricultural community. The bank did not flourish as expected and stayed open for only a short time.

Over the years, the building served as a neighborhood grocery store, a canteen for Army personnel during World War II, and a Railway Express Agency parcel depot. The building was closed in 1966. In 1993, the Odenton Heritage Society purchased the building and began restoring it. The Bank Building reopened as a museum and coffee shop in 1994.

In September 1994, the Anne Arundel County Trust for Preservation presented the Orlando Ridout IV Award to the Society in recognition of outstanding restoration effort.
