DESCRIPTION:The Odenton Heritage Society is Proud To Host A Program Commemorating The Events of 75 Years Ago When The Allies Drove Nazi Germany Out of Western Europe. \nSaturday\, November 16\, 2019\, 2PM-4PM at the OHS Center\, 1367 Odenton Road\, Odenton\, MD.\nAdmission is free. \nOn June 6\, 1944\, Europe’s long nightmare began to end as Allied Forces crossed the English Channel and invaded France.  By the end of  August Paris was liberated and the Low Countries loomed next.  But after setbacks in The Netherlands and Belgium\, aspirations for an end to the war by Christmas were dashed. \nFort Meade was the training ground for many of these soldiers.  Join us for a program honoring these men by marking those pivotal events in world history when we host historians in period uniforms: \nMike Hall\, US Army Air Forces (Airmen’s Preservation Society); David Kennedy\, 327th Company Glider Infantry Regiment; Noah McHugh\, 5th Rangers and 82nd Airborne; Kelly Washington and Charles Whittaker\, 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion; and Anthony Garrett\, Waffen SS. \n
