SUMMARY:OHS June 2025 Open House
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, June 1\, the Odenton Heritage Society will celebrate German culture in Maryland with a special display about Blob’s Park\, a historic and fondly remembered biergarten\, polka palace\, and German-style eatery that flourished from the 1930s to the 2010s. Max Blob’s unique attraction was located in Jessup\, but it drew people from Odenton and the entire region. Thank you to the family of Max Blob who provided the information for this display. \n\nVisitors to the OHS Historical Center also can explore the 1912 Old Masonic Hall and OHS Museum. Learn about the rich history of the town of Odenton\, from its railroads\, homes\, and churches to its schools\, stores\, and recreational activities. Stroll through 154 years of history with costumed docents. Immerse yourself in displays on the Civil War\, military history\, and local businesses like Nevamar and the Murray cannery. \n\nAdmission and tours to the Odenton Historical Center are always free.
