SUMMARY:OHS May Open House
DESCRIPTION:Join the Odenton Heritage Society in our next open house\, Sunday\, May 1st! We will continue to observe the town’s 150th anniversary with “Odenton’s Founders\,” a photo display about prominent 19th century families and their businesses. The general stores\, post office\, farms and cannery operated by the Watts and Murray families helped to define the young town and populate the area near the railroad junction at its center (today’s MARC station). \nAdditional displays present community history in the 20th century\, including homes\, stores\, schools\, WWI and WWII\, amateur baseball\, National Plastic products\, and the growth of the railroads that intersected in Odenton and employed many of its residents. \nThe OHS Museum is located in the 1912 old Masonic Hall (which is now the OHS Historical Center) at 1367 Odenton Road. Admission and tours are free. \nWhile you’re visiting\, please consider becoming a member and supporting our all volunteer efforts in protecting and preserving the history of Odenton.  \n
