OHS February Open House
The next Odenton Heritage Society Open House will be on Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 1PM – 4PM. Sunday's open house will be photo copying day. Anyone who has photographs of Odenton taken before 1970 is encouraged to bring them for scanning into the Society's digital collection. The OHS Historical Center and Museum is located at 1367 Odenton Road. The museum presents more than 150 years of Odenton history. Admission and tours are free. We hope to see you there!

OHS March Open House
The Odenton Heritage Society will open a new museum display, "Hometown Hardware Stores," at its open house on Sunday, March 1st. Learn how family-owned hardware stores contributed to the economic growth of communities like Odenton, Gambrills, and Woodwardville. The Odenton Heritage Society Historical Center and Museum resides in a restored 1912 former Masonic Hall. OHS April 5th Open House – CANCELLED
CANCELLED In light of the recent coronavirus pandemic and restrictions in place by the President and our Governor, OHS has made the decision to cancel our April Open House and any other activities that are planned or may arise from March 14th through April 30th. OHS Reopening and Odenton Celebrating 150 Years! Come and Join Us!
The Odenton Heritage Society will mark Odenton’s 150th anniversary reopening our museum during our Open House on Sunday, August 1, 2021. It was on August 2, 1871 that the U. S. Post Office Department established the Odenton post office at a new railroad junction under construction near the present MARC station. Trains began running through the junction on July, 1872, and Odenton’s identity – a railroad town named for Baltimore and Potomac Railroad President Oden Bowie – was complete. The OHS…

September Open House
In our September Open House, the Odenton Heritage Society will be remembering the 9/11 terrorist attack and paying tribute to all those who were affected on that day twenty years ago. We have a special display in our museum honoring Lt. Jonas Martin Panik, a 1997 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, who lived in Piney Orchard. Lt.
