OHS August Open House!
Visit us this Sunday, August 4th for our next open house! We'll be open from 1PM-4PM. Learn about the town of Odenton and its railroads, homes, churches, schools, stores and recreational activities during the past 150 years. Displays about the Civil War, military history, and local businesses such as Nevamar are available. OHS September Open House
Join us on Sunday, September 1 where we will hold a photo copying day at the Odenton Heritage Society Museum's open house. Bring your photographs of old Odenton places, scenes, people, and buildings to be scanned into the Society's digital collection. The museum, which is open from 1PM to 4PM, displays community history since 1870. It is located at 1367 Odenton Road. Museum tours and admission is free. Odenton Day 2019!
Odenton Day is a joint effort by the Odenton Heritage Society, Inc., Odenton Volunteer Fire Company, the Greater Odenton Improvement Association and the Central Maryland Chamber of Commerce. The Odenton Heritage Society will be represented at both the Odenton Heritage Society's museum and the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company Firehouse. OHS November Open House
The next OHS Open House will be on Sunday, November 3, 2019, 1PM – 4PM "Riding the Train to Annapolis" is the subject of a new display at the November 3rd open house of the Odenton Heritage Society. Train schedules and historical photographs taken between 1908 and 1935 recall a time when electric trains provided frequent service from Annapolis Junction and Odenton to the state capital over a former steam railroad that had opened in 1840.
